While a lot of travelers opt for the Moroccan Riad experience, Fellah Hotel is an undeniably cool property with so much to appreciate and discover. Located on the outskirts of Marrakesh in Tssoultante, your arrival will have you say to yourself ‘where am I?’ when your car doors open at the entrance and a cowboy emerges dressed in an army uniform to greet you and assist with your luggage.
I stumbled across Fellah Hotel and was immediately drawn to the interior design and the property itself, designed by Houria Hafoufou and Redha Moali. From the tiles to the reupholstered Eames lounge chairs, to the colorful rugs and the Arnold Schwarzenegger shrine, to the phone your grandmother probably once owned – the property embraces diversity and will have you stopping at every villa just wanting to wander in to see what is inside.
You’ll have every excuse not to leave. The pool is tranquil with a clear view of the Atlas Mountains. Not only does the restaurant serve delicious food using local ingredients, you can take lessons with the chef. The gym offers Thai boxing lessons, which can be later rewarded with a Thai massage or hammam. Did I mention there is a farm and the hotel has programs for children, making it a perfect place for funky families to retreat? Not a problem for those who would like to escape children running loose – the is a private pool behind villa 1. A highlight for me was being able to wander around the property looking at the modern art, indulging in the Moroccan charm and losing track of time in the library.
The eco-friendly property, luxurious amenities, and vibrant staff and guests offer a memorable experience in the most positive way. Fellah Hotel is definitely where you will find the cool people.
